Blog Carnival

After I toured the blogs from our class, a few of the posts stood out for me. These are:

Blogging Best Practices by Mandi Wasmer: It was great to read this post from Mandi because I too have a hard time keeping up with a blog, and it was nice to know I’m not the only one. I think if it’s for your job, or for a paycheck, the motivation for keeping up is higher. Thanks Mandi for helping me feel not alone in my struggle! I also like that she mentioned showing your personality in your blog. That was also one of my pointers for blogging.

I liked this real world example of just how easy it is to post to your business account instead of your personal account, and the ramifications that follow that mistake. Luckily for Heidi and her team, the damage sounded like it was minimal, but a hard lesson was learned. Great job in handling that Heidi!

I thought this post by Jamie was amazing! It was well thought out, well organized, well written, and credited her sources very well. She brings to light the exact reason we are all taking this most important class about communicating in the 21st century. Great post Jamie! By the way, I LOVE your header picture!

I’m feeling social (media) by Matt Schroeder.
Matt has an amazing sense of humor and puts pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard as it is, very well. His posts are inviting, informative, and always include a piece of him in them. I particularly enjoyed this post about social media. First, his play on words is very clever, and he opens up a lot in this post and gives us a peek inside his life and how he got to where he is today. Kudos to you Matt, you’ve come a long way! Also, for one last shot, how about Borris Karloff for “Six Degrees of Star Trek”? J

Truly, these posts are just a small sample of the very strong and great posts my classmates were able to post on their blogs this quarter. It’s been great getting to see a little piece of everyone’s personality through their blogs. Great job COMM 4228!

We're Almost There!!

Hang on my friends! We are almost at the end of our journey. It's been a quick and intense ride, that for me, has been filled with angst, pressure, stress, learning, discovering, and pleasure at getting to know a little bit about each of you. Thank you for sharing so openly your ideas, thoughts, and guidance in this journey with me. I don't know how close each of you are to completing your education, but I wish each if you nothing but success! Congratulations on getting through this learning experience with me!
